How to Maintain Hydraulic Cylinders to Extend Service Life?

1.Hydraulic Cylinders Rust Prevention:
Since the piston rod extends out of the cylinder during operation, it is exposed to oxidation and acidic gas erosion. Apply an appropriate amount of grease to protect this load-bearing component. This prevents erosion-induced fractures during operation.

2.Hydraulic Cylinders Oil Replacement:
Prolonged use may allow contaminants to enter the cylinder, increasing friction during operation. Additionally, hydraulic fluid has a limited service life. Failure to replace it regularly can damage or corrode the cylinder.

3.Hydraulic Cylinders Temperature Control:
Maintain proper hydraulic system temperature. Excessively high oil temperatures reduce seal lifespan, causing permanent deformation or even complete seal failure over time.

4.Hydraulic Cylinders Surface Protection:
Safeguard the piston rod’s external surface from impacts and scratches that could damage seals. Routinely clean the wiper seal area and exposed piston rod to remove debris like sand and mud. Prevent stubborn contaminants from adhering to the rod surface, as they may enter the cylinder and damage the piston, barrel, or seals.
